Jacob, Samuel and Harry Lestz began the business in 1907 and was then known as Lestz Brothers Dry Goods. In 1944 Jacob took over the business and moved to 15 South Prince St. Lancaster, PA. By 1960, Lestz & Company moved to its current location. |

In 1970, Aaron and Minna Cohen took ownership of the company. |
